I've added two new items to our website: (1) a church calendar, and (2) the current revision of our bylaws. The bylaws is an encrypted file, just contact the church office or any member of the bylaw committee for the password.

Hello from FBC Moore
Your staff is attending a two day workshop at First Baptist Moore, Missional Ministry. We're learning lots of interesting stuff. While here I completed the March media schedule and emailed it back to the church office this afternoon. Hopefully Jan had time to get it in the mail to everyone.

Almost there
Had a good doctor's visit last week. He's pleased with how well the shoulder is recovering from surgery. I'm now out of the arm sling but still have 16 weeks to go before lifting anything more than a few pounds or reaching/extending my right arm.

Physic?
Are we physic? Apparently some people must think we are. Otherwise how else would they think we'd just somehow know they were going to need a microphone, especially when we didn't even know they were scheduled to sing?
Please, if you're going to be needing a mic let Jeff or myself know. We are not physic and we can't read your mind either.
Happy New Year & Update
Well can you believe it? Another year has come and gone. Tomorrow will be 2008! Best wishes for a Happy New Year!
Recovery from the shoulder surgery has gone well. I'll probably be wearing the arm sling for another week or two. Hopefully I'll start some rehab soon to start getting use of the arm again. Thanks to all the media crew for pitching in and taking the heavy lifting off my shoulders (pun intended).
The church office will close at noon today and will be closed tomorrow for New Year's day. Wednesday starts a new year for us. Please remember your church staff in your prayers.

Laid Low
I'll be going in for surgery tomorrow morning to repair a torn rotator cuff. I know I can count on the team to fill in for me while I'm out. It's doubtful that I'll be at church Sunday so camera setup will be the responsibility of the video director. The FOH op will take care of the audio needs. Sunday's projection has been entered into the computer. I think I've taken care of everything.... I think :)
I'm not supposed to use my right arm for quite a few weeks so basically I'm going to be as useful as a spoonful of dirt in a levy breach. I appreciate all your prayers.

He deserves our best
While here in the Ozarks I had the opportunity to attend a performance of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol at Silver Dollar City. The level of professionalism was awe inspiring. Of course they were getting paid but stop and think about why we do media.... Isn't it to worship Almighty God? If anything, we ought to be even more dedicated.
Our God is an awesome God!
Are we content in just giving Him our second best? Or doesn't He deserve our very best? Do we honor Him when we show up for a service at the last minute? Is He honored when we're so busy visiting that we miss audio cues?
We need to realize that we're not doing something just to be doing something... we're doing probably the most important thing we'll ever do.... we're worshiping God Almighty, the creator of the universe, the Alpha and Omega, the Great I Am!
Join with me in a renewed vow to give God our best!

Music Minister
Our new Music Minister, Jeff Petillo, survived his first Sunday with us last week. Welcome to FBC Jeff!
Happy Tday
Right now I'm sitting in a motel room in Russellville, Arkansas.... isn't wi-fi wonderful? Just wanted to write a quick note to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Monitor Zones
We now have 5 separate monitor zones on stage.
Zone 1 is what used to be called the "Floor Monitors" and covers the "Front" part of the stage.
Zone 2 covers the center of the stage and is called "Choir".
Zone 3 covers the piano & guitar area and is called "Piano".
Zone 4 covers the drum area and is called "Drum".
Zone 5 is the rearward facing ceiling mounted speaker and is called "Ceiling".
Click here for a schematic of the monitor layout.
This pretty much uses up the available monitor outputs as long as we use the current 3 groups. Eventually if we need more we can reconfigure the board. That's one of the nice things about the A&H, it's so easy to configure & customize.
